What is Podiatry?

Podiatry also known as Podiatric Medicine is a health care speciality that provides comprehensive medical treatment to the foot.

It has developed from its origins in Chiropody to become a medical speciality, in which Podiatrists have the skills required, by the use of scientific principals, to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate various abnormal conditions of the lower limb within their scope of practice.

A Podiatrist is an autonomous healthcare professional whose aim is to assist and improve the well being of peoples feet. Their way of doing so is by assessing diagnosing and treating various problems affecting the lower limb and feet.
